Though we have a number of online shopping portals, one thing I personally missed was online classifieds that brought buyers and sellers together with no middlemen. Often there are things in the house that you wish to sell because you could be relocating, interested in buying a better model or simply because you don’t use it anymore. And, it is almost impossible to sell it through newspaper classifieds.

Then I chanced upon OLX.in through some really catchy advertisements with the punchline, “Yahan sab kuch bikta hai.”

Yes, the advertisements stayed with me and motivated me to browse through their website to get to know more about them. OLX is a global player based in New York and Buenos Aires, Brazil. It has a presence in over 40 countries around the world. It expanded into India in 2006, set up a strong network and then started its advertising campaign in 2011 that has been received extremely well.

Today, OLX.in is a trusted online classifieds portal where you place a free ad in multiple and exhaustive categories on the website and directly reach out to the buyer or seller.

  2. I find that these sites are not *maintained* at all, and there are so many junk links. I would love it if there was some way of knowing if these were reliable as well. I burnt myself on eBay once and am mostly wary of trusting such sites.
🙂 But I agree, the ads are all good.

  3. Not in my experience, Veens! This is very different from ebay. This is not a shopping portal. They are just an online advertisement sites that connects you to a seller or buyer of your product. We have to do our own due diligence when we buy the product. But you can land some really good deals here too!

ads are hilarious to watch. But the website has less categories to post ads as per consumer needs. I find Quikr.com one of classifieds have more categories to place an ads and sell products. nice article.

  5. OLX is really a awesome site.

I think OLX is far better than Quicker.

In OLX I got a buyer for my old Nokia phone. I post the same ads in Quicker but don’t get any reply.
