Enticing are new notebooks with their pages untouched, that fresh, appealing smell of ruled paper, their soft touch on your skin – I can close my eyes and relive the experience of breathing in deeply of their scent. When I was a little child, I used to eagerly await new notebooks and textbooks. I could not wait to write in those notebooks, gently feeling the gossamer light pages looking bright and inviting waiting for the letter to do their merry dance on them. Ah, the joys of small things! I see my children cherishing the same. Of course, their notebooks are thinner and some of them non-funky as schools now get their logos customized on notebooks.

But when they run out of notebooks, they run to the stationery shops to buy new ones. This time they choose the cover they like. Something bright and cheerful, maybe a favourite superhero character or a much loved toy character. This is a latest notebook they bought. Isn’t it gorgeous?

And the quality of paper in Classmate notebooks is so good. No smudging, no tearing easily.

Then I heard about customized notebooks. I thought it was such a lovely idea. Imagine if you had the choice to decide what to have on the cover of your notebook. Wouldn’t that be so much fun? I can already imagine my kids fighting over which images they would select. From their favourite pet pic to one of their own in the most stylish avatar that they can think of. I think my younger son would certainly include this image on his favourite Classmate notebook. Personally I wouldn’t mind the family picture too. That way I will always keep that notebook with me.

I think it is a thoughtful idea if you wish to surprise your children with a unique gift. Choose their favourite pictures, custom design the notebooks depending upon your choice, upload the picture and you are done! Now all you need to do is wait for it to be delivered home. Can you imagine the joy and delight on your child’s face? His gait when he carries the book to school and gets envious looks from his classmates. Such delight, right? It is a unique and interesting way to add more fun to learning as well. You wouldn’t need to prod them to whip out their favourite books to write in. I am thinking that maybe they can use them as a journal for penning their memories or experiences. Wouldn’t that be nice too?
