Click Pictures:
So the first thing I did with the phone was click pictures. As I regularly write travel posts, click funny billboards, capture scenery or life on the go, I find my cellphone a handy companion. Whip it out of the purse and click instead of lugging along heavy cameras. For this reason, it is important that my cellphone click sharp, vivid pictures without much adjustment or settings. Sometimes, you really have to click in a hurry. Asus ZenFone 5 takes some pretty competent pictures especially in natural light. It has many modes and is user-friendly. It is also easy to take short videos on the phones. The colors are lively, vivid and real. I have kids and a dog, and you know anytime is video time around them. You already know that I have a food blog too. Hence eating out or cooking at home, I click food regularly. This phone’s camera did justice to those pics. You will see more of them in the next post. I liked the front camera too for when the inspiration for selfies strikes or for my skype calls.
The video camera is fine, but I did feel that the audio quality could be better. I felt some noise in the audio.
Watch videos and play games:
I love to watch videos on my phone. I play my favorite Youtube songs on the phone regularly. The videos download quickly and the audio and video quality are just perfect. And, what can I say about games. My children are always flicking my phone playing their games for hours on the phone. The amazing part is that the 5-inch HD screen is really nice and shows bright and crisp images. There is no lag time and the touch works like a dream. It is enjoyable watching any multimedia on this phone. And you know what, the battery lasts an entire day even when I have been keeping the wi-fi on the entire day. Pretty impressive because even my high-end Android has its battery draining out by the evening.
Reading blogposts and articles:
As a blogger, I do a lot of reading on my smartphone. A fast browser is important for me. With Asus Zenfone 5, I faced no problem of speed. The pages load quickly and enable me to enjoy a smooth reading experience. The screen has excellent resolution and clarity. The phone is also very comfortable to hold as the back is slightly rounded and eases gripping the phone comfortably. The phone is reasonably light at 145 gm and does not feel bulky at all. Hence I don’t put any strain on my hands while holding the phone and reading.
All my tasks of browsing the net, sending mails, playing games, watching videos and making calls throughout the day were handled expertly by the phone.
Overall, a commendable performance by a phone which is packed with high-end features at a reasonable price. Had I tried this phone earlier, I would have bought this one instead of my high-end Android phone.
Well good starter review. The good thing about Android is that there is one for every need and budget… do share more pics as I am always interested in clicking pics with cell phones specially food pics.. which is the litmus test for a cellphone camera in my opinion….
Sure, will be sharing the pics in my next post. Though, I felt that obviously the pictures taken in natural light were way better.
hmmm looks like to be a good phone. 🙂
I was to oquick to press the post comment button..
os many phones these days , its getting harder and harder to decide which one to buy. I think we have started expecting a lot more from a phone then what it is supposed to be for 🙂
Yes, true that. But this phone has some great features at just 10K.
Asus Zenfone is a great choice for those looking for a device with impressive features at a budget price. The phone has all the essentials right and also comes packed with useful features like Quick Memo, Super Note, What’s Next widget. One feature that I really like in Zenfone is the integrated cloud storage in its file manager. This basically gives the users of Zenfone access to endless storage. All you need is to make an account at cloud storage services like Google Drive and it gets integrated and accessible from the File Manager. Really impressive. Zenfone’s sharing features like ShareLink, Party Link are useful too. The camera modes are interesting, especially the Low Light Mode which is capable of clicking a good picture even in very dark conditions.
Thanks, Jyoti, for your comprehensive comment.
It’s a very good phone from what I have read online. I can’t comment on the audio quality but will take your word for it. I am planning to buy this one for my mum.
The audio quality is excellent when listening to music or watching YouTube videos. I just felt it lower a bit when capturing videos. I think it is a great choice for anyone. Do remember to use DesiPriceCompare to get the lowest prices. 🙂
great review cum personal Post Rachna… Yeah its great phone I have seen people using it happy and satisfied …satisfaction being a thing hard to find in smartphone users 🙂
Thanks, Kokila. Glad you liked the review. I know, it is so difficult to be happy with a phone these days. I paid 20K more than this phone’s price and yet I am unhappy with the battery among other things with my current phone. 😀

Really enjoyed the review. Can you let me know what battery life I can expect with daily activities like calls, youtube, chatting etc
Thanks so much, Kanwardeep. You can expect a battery life of about a day with these activities. If your usage is very heavy then a little less.
