I am an avid online shopper! I do everything from shopping for groceries, apparel, movie tickets, hotel tickets, accessories and gifts online. Yes, it is extremely safe to shop online. And with excellent return and refund policies in place, it is also risk free for those times when things don’t fit or match your expectations. Yes, I have returned some items too without a hitch so far. Those who are very particular about not paying online can opt for easy Cash on Delivery option as well. So, when I was approached to do a review of this website, Cashkaro.com, I was instantly game and curious. What can be too different here?
Cashkaro.com is a Coupons and cashback site that has affiliations with more than 350 popular brands in India. All you have log into your Cashkaro account and then shop on your favorite online shopping portals like snapdeal, flipkart, myntra, groupon, foodpanda etc. in multiple niches just like you would otherwise but avail of special discount coupons and cashback while shopping. You can not only buy apparel, jewelry, shoes, books, gadgets but also order food and vacation deals. There is nothing complicated about it.
All I did was create an account and shopped for a lamp to begin with on snapdeal.com. I got a discount of 10% using a Cashkaro coupon on the price right away. I also got a cashback of 8.75% on the purchase made later. As the cashback did not appear within the 72-hour limit that the website displays, I raised a ticket for missing cashback. I got a response on that within a few days and the cashback was promptly credited to my account. This cashback can then be transferred directly to your bank account once it exceeds the value of Rs. 250. It is as easy as this.
But, the biggest hitch is that it takes many weeks for the cashback to become available to you for withdrawal because that is the time that the merchants take in sending the money to Cashkaro.com. And this time could be as high as 10-12 weeks. Currently my cashbacks are lolling in the account till Mar 2014 when they will be paid though they promise that it will be sooner than that. This is something that they must look at reducing for sure.
My entire experience with the website was extremely good. I have already shopped 3 more times through Cashkaro.com :). And I got a whopping 35% discount in the ongoing GOSF that was ongoing along with even higher cashbacks. To give you an example, I bought something worth Rs. 500 for Rs. 200 including the discounts and cashback. Fantastic, isn’t it?
Frankly, in future whenever I am shopping online, I will check to see if the site appears on Cashkaro.com and would prefer to make my purchase through them, as I save money directly. The website is user friendly. Remember you are doing the actual shopping on the original portals so the middleman is actually only giving you extra money both in terms of discount as well as cashback. A sure win-win!
I highly recommend the site to all my friends to try out and see for themselves.
Disclaimer: I was given Rs. 1000 to shop through Caskhkaro.com. All the thoughts in my review are my honest opinions based on my experience.
Interesting concept but I guess cashback does take time.. In the US it would take easily between 4-8 weeks but yes more than that would be a tad bit too much. Was thinking if doing some shopping online, will glance through cash karo for any available deals.
Yes, I agree that the delay in getting a cashback is a bit of a downer but I guess it all depends upon when the merchant gives them the money in the first place. Yet getting cashback for normal shopping is definitely tempting :). Thanks for reading, Seeta!
Cashkaro looks like a good website. Now a days I am doing most of my shopping through major shopping sites like Flipkart, HomeShop18 and all these sites have tieups with this. I am looking to give this a try in future. Thanks Rachana for sharing this website.
Yes, like you, I am also an online shopping buff and what helps is that this site is affiliated with all our favorite sites. I hope you enjoy your cashbacks and discounts with them. Good luck! Thanks for reading and welcome to my blog, Pritam!
interesting rachna. Which sites do you use for vegetables and groceries? curious to know as I’d like to start it soon. And clothes too? Somehow I prefer the stores, but any ones that you felt had a good collections? May be I should start with something small..
I use bigbasket.com for veggies and groceries. Excellent site with great shipping and even replacement of anything you like on the spot — no questions asked. I have shopped on apparel from Jabong and Myntra. Begin with a small item and see. And don’t hesitate to return if it does not fit or suit you. They have pretty good exchange policies. Most of them don’t even charge for the return courier. Glad you liked the post, Nischala!
I am somehow yet to pick up online shopping.
Wow, I am so completely opposite to where you are :).
Even name of the website sounds cool na ? CashKaro !! Happy that you found it useful and yes will check it out for sure
Yep, a cool and easy-to-recall name for sure! It sounds like a great idea to get cashback with minimal effort.
I do a LOT of online shopping too, but never knew about this site 🙂 I need to check it out. Thanks for the post – now off to Cashkaro.
