Anyway, the movie is hilarious. Aamir, Sharman and Madhavan come up top notch. The humor is superb. Omi Vaidya who plays the overambitious guy is tremendous. His balaatkar speech had us all rolling on the floor laughing. Kareena’s barely there character is good. Boman is wonderful. The script is the winner and has a great pertinent message about our education system and the pressures put on our students. The only scenes which jar — the delivery of the baby by a vacuum cleaner and as a mother I can tell you the scene was pretty juvenile and what was the need for the roundabout suspense about Aamir’s past and then the contrived end. But they were minor hitches. The movie was really superb and all thumbs up. And thank heavens, not really based on the book. Way to go, Raju Hirani!
I am surely not writing a review :). I know every person and their chacha is talking about this movie. It was already in news during its making because it was an Aamir Khan movie made by Rajkumar Hirani who has a knack of making superbly funny movies with a message to boot. The Munnabhai series can be watched n number of times and the credit goes to Raju bhaiya. Also apparently the movie was based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller “Five Point Someone”. I won’t touch upon that controversy either. Frankly, after seeing the film I feel that it hardly takes anything from the main novel except the basic premise of 3 friends in IIT (in the novel). Still since they had bought the rights of the book, they may as well have given Chetan his credit in the opening credits. Why the pettiness there?
🙂 Besides delivery scene, Mona Sings name got changed from Poonam (during first half) to Mona (at last scenes)………
Dont know how
😉
