Holi — a festival of colors and a harbinger of spring in the Northern parts of India is a beautiful festival. Since we are in Karnataka, where the festival is not really celebrated, there is no holiday on Holi which is officially tomorrow. So, we decided to celebrate it today. We had such fun throwing color, colored water and generally having loads of fun. Staying in a big community has its advantages because everyone participates with everyone else in having fun.
Gautam loved his “pichkari” or sprinkler and was mostly sprinkling air on everywhere :). He did not know how to fill water properly. He was loving the experience. Siddharth had a great time throwing water, balloons and color on everyone. And, he was much more sporting than last year, when he cried if anyone came to throw water on him. Gurdev was so drenched in green paint that he looked like an ogre:). And, even after having a bath, his hands are ugly green. I was luckier to get most of the color washed off my face. The kids still have a lot of green and pink colors left over on their faces and bodies. It surely was so much fun.
We have some more fun planned in the evening with friends, when there will be good food, good company, great music and dance and lots of entertainment. Looking forward to it!
