We are in Hyderabad for a week on vacation. And, apparently it is the hottest summer in Hyderabad in some years. The maximum temperatures are touching 45 degrees, and seriously it is difficult to cope with this heat., and there are 3 hours of power cuts daily. All that we have on our minds is to stay cool somehow. Nimbu paani made of lemons from our own tree, coconut water, chilled water, sweet-sour raw mango, juicy fruits, and lots of lassi are the things prime on our minds. The kids are just enjoying hanging around. There are many trees in my in-laws house — lemon, mango, drumstick, chickoo, papaya, coconut with lots of flowering plants. Gautam especially is so excited to see how fruits and vegetables are perched atop trees and not in vendors’ carts.
There are no plans to venture out in this heat anywhere. This is the first time that I have come to Hyderabad and not gone around somewhere. I can’t even say that we are chilling at home :). As you can see, my entire thought process is oriented around heat. Bangalore — I await getting back and really looking forward to the rains.
