It is June, and it is school reopening time for children. Kids after a two-month long vacation resent having to get up early, but in a way they are happy and excited to be back to meeting their classmates. And, parents heave a sigh of relief; everything can finally go back to its routine. Finally, my younger son is in 1st standard, and I’ve been waiting very long for this. They had different timings for kindergarten and primary school, and thus both my sons went and came back at different times. That used to drive me up the wall. One went at 7.30 am and the other at 9ish. I was up from 6 am getting them ready and just sending them off till 9. So, now that is sorted out even though it is a little more hectic in the mornings (4 dabbas to prepare), I am not complaining :).
If they have trouble waking up, Coco, my Labrador, comes to my rescue. He will go lick bhaiya’s hand, and sure bhaiya will be up with a smile. You just can’t go wrong with a dog, can you? :).
It is so cute to see Gautam tagging his big brother. They wave me bye and keep saying, “Have a nice day” till they disappear at the end of the lane. Gautam is lucky in a way because big bro is there to drop him to class or help him with any angst that he might face. Sid had to do it all alone. Big brothers and sisters are so special because they always watch the back of their younger siblings. The younger ones bully their friends saying that bhai tumko dekh lega. In my case, it was my elder sister I used to hide behind for everything. So, for the first time for Gautam’s first day at school, I did not go to drop him. Bhai was there! These two sons of mine might make my life miserable by fighting all the time but are there to back each other up in their time of need. The little Ninja is a handful if you dare mess up with elder brother. I am so glad that they will always have each other to fall back upon.
And, it is quite something to see Siddharth in school trousers now that he is in 5th Standard. Suddenly, he looks all grown up. We moms are so sentimental about these things quickly flash backing to the tiny toddler who began school, crying and hanging on to their hands and switching to the pride mode on seeing them thrive and taking on more responsibilities. School days are so amazing! I had some of the best times in school even though we always longed for the freedom that college offered :).

Lovely post and a nostalgia trip too. My son when he started HKG kept on saying that he is a Big boy now and I used to have this lump in my throat. Shameful of me, I know.
Thank you Bhagyashree. Nothing shameful; it is every mommy’s adhikar to break into Aww tears for no reason ;P.
Very sweet post and adorable pic of the two li’l boys! 🙂
Thank you Ash. Glad you liked it.
Hope they have a great school year ahead. 🙂
It is very adorable to see two siblings looking after each other. It brings out that “AWWWW” feeling in me. But later when the same two conspire against me, I end up saying “UFFFF”.
hehe I have more “Uff” moments than “Awww” ones, so I document the Awww ones more 😉
Even the memory of holiday homework and craft classes, gives me the heebiejeebies.
Right now you are their Mommy idol and they have nothing but stars in their eyes for you.
Oh these days, they get no holiday homework. And, the summer camp I sent them to was mostly fun things. Yep, all moms thrive on that, don’t they? :).
gautham’s “gate” the missing tooth he looks cute :))
and three kids – so sweet
Tanvi was so excited with all the wrapping / binding of books & new friends & all
thank god for June!!
and it is wonderful to see na when siblings stick for each other. nice
Thank God for June. All moms feel happy to see their kids away so they have time on their hands :).
Got reminded of my school going days 🙂 My mom would have felt the same
I am sure the same would have applied to your mom!
elder sibling in the same school is really a boon, I always wished that…
Yes, it is a lot of advantage.
How sweet! Proud of your older one. Once, took me back to good old school days. For me, I have two more months to go…this summer, am so lucky not to have both of them with me. Am I being mean? 😉
Btw, cute pic.
No, not mean at all! Kids during vacations are a pain in the a@$. Why do you think I am so sorry that the schools reopened? 😉
haha..thanks that I have a company now..:) You know, otherwise, many moms ask me this stupid question: “How can you leave your kids?”.Man, it drives me nuts.
Kids can be a handful :).

Such a sweet post. I see kids in my lane walking down the road in the mornings with those cute uniforms of royal colours. It is nice to hear their hush hush talks about something really silly.
My sis and me walked to the same school hand in hand. This post reminded of those days.
Yes, it is a cute sight — young and old kids walking to school chattering away. How sweet the memories!

Rachna,
These are the memories you will cherish a few years down the line. It seems to us that it was only yesterday that our children were going to school and now we see our grandchildren going. Here holidays are till end June or so. Do give my love to both and a pat to Coco.
Take care
Thank you Jack uncle! Indeed, these memories make their childhood years so memorable.
Lovely to see your three kids growing up so well.Your post took me down memory lane …… How I fondly remember those days….. Its so wonderful to see them growing up, amusing you by learning new things everyday.
Wish you a very happy time Rachna, enjoy every bit of this charming time which will soon pass by before you even realize.

Can’t tell you how much I am happy that my son’s school is going to start… 🙂 the post is a certain reminder of my best days of school…
hehe and we are in the same boat :).
Congrats to both Sid and Gautam on their new school year! The boys look lovely in the picture – their eyes shining bright in adoration for their mommy!
Now I always count Israel as a kid too. So my friend asked me recently, “So, he has 4 kids too?” My response was, “No, he has only me!”
God bless your family Rachna!
Thank you NRIGirl! I cherish your sweet words! Good response from you. Oh yes, I say that too many times that I have 4 kids :).
Nice post Rachna, took me back to the days, of packing lunch, short break tiffin, and later on when my son was preparing for all this IIT , etc, something for the evening since he would be stuck in school for the evening, I still don’t know, how I managed, and really can’t think of ever going through all that again. Always thinking of what to cook that would stay good for the whole day, such were the thoughts that always plagued me. In fact, I enjoyed their vacations very much, for then, there was no tension.
Till they eventually leave the house and go different ways, there is really no relief for parents.
But that is life, I suppose.
Even I wonder rama, how I do it? It feels like the weekdays just pass by in a jiffy in all the running around. This is life. We wait for them to grow up. And, once they go away, we wait for them to come! The dichotomy of life! But, I don’t enjoy their vacations because I work from home, and it is a nightmare then.
Lovely boys you have!! 🙂
This took me down the memory lane too, being the eldest, I remember taking care of my lil sister, drop her, pick her and meet her in the recess too, to see, if all was well with her!!
And yes, the vacations makes the entire routine topsy turvy!
Thank you Shilpa! Yes, elder siblings are so responsible. My sis used to do that too. As a matter of fact, I used to hang around with her group in the break too.
They look adorable and both of them have your smile Rachna.Same school timing is a blessing but this is not going to happen for me for another four years. My son leaves at 6.30 and daughter at 8.15 in the morning ,he comes back at 12.30 while she at 2.30…phew!
Coco licking bhaiya’s hand and mera bhai tumko dekh lega,so cute,my day is made.
God bless your family Rachna:):)
Thank you Kavita! Ah, you have to wait longer but you will get there ;-). Oh yes, it is so crazy, and I have no one else at home, so you can imagine the running around I do.
Not only two,all three of the kids are very smart
Absolutely right, BKC sir :).
Aah, that made me tear a bit. It reminded me of my old days at school. It so heartwarming to see the two bros stick up to each other and your third child also performing his brotherly duties:) Ok, now a crucial question. Why four dabbas? One for you or is it for the third kid?
Nahin re, two each for both of them, one for short break and one for lunch :). See how much I slog ;-).
Hi
I have one child who has just started KG but I am able to connect with how you feel seeing your boys grow 🙂 Nice post! I am the older one in my family and I remember going to my brother’s teacher as a kid and asking her how he was faring. I can imagine how much the teacher woudl have laughed later thinking about the ten yr old who came asking how her six yr old sibling was faring 😀
And, I can totally imagine that Jaish. My older son is 10 now, and he regularly asks his younger brother’s teachers how he is doing. :).
Wow they both look so adorable !!Loved your mommy ramblings ..waiting for my son to join the school !!
A Pearl Collar Necklace, Bangs and Life Lately!!
thank you Lipsy for your visit and comment.
That was an endearing post. I can see much of that happening this side of the earth too, sans Coco.
Thank you USP! A story of every house with school-going kids.
having a big brother is a great advantage.. having a little one too.. keep writing.. smiles..
Thank you Someone is Special for your visit and kind words. Siblings are fun!
Such a sweet post, Rachna!
School has such a whole load of memories attached to it.
Loved the pic!!
Thank you Uma.
best time of growing up!!
Yes, it is. Thanks for your visit.
Such a lovely post! Surely, childhood is one of the best phases and having a sibling just enhances the whole spirit of growing up. I think it is really good when you have siblings to fall back on.
thank you so much, Akshay! Siblings are absolute blessings!
