Fun with balloons
My younger son, Gautam,  turned 5 yesterday. It feels like 5 years makes for a grown up boy but looking at him, he still feels and looks so tiny :). Perhaps because he has a towering elder brother to make him look younger. At every birthday, I can’t help but remember the tiny, squirming bundle of joy who has now become this really naughty brat who tests my patience all the time but is also adoringly loving.
This time Siddharth, his elder brother, also brought him a gift from money saved in his piggy bank. That I felt was the best gesture. Gautam had a lot of fun that was coupled with the Teachers’ Day celebration yesterday at school. He was also very pleased that grandma could drop in specially for his birthday!

  17. I know I am late, but it doesn’t matter. Happy Birthday Gautam!
    Siddarth, that is really sweet of you to show your love for your little brother.
    Rachna, I know how you feel, you would never stop feeling this way about your children even when they are adults. Even now, when I see my daughter in the webcam, I feel she is so sweet and innocent, I feel like touching and pinching her cheeks, and you know she is almost 30 years and married.
    The same feelings are there for my son too, and he lives so far away and managing on his own, and he is such a cute fellow, that we forget the tension they gave us once upon a time.
    I feel children would always remain children to their parents however old they may become.

  18. @cybernag.in Very aptly put!

    @Agnes and A thanks!

    @rama I think it is such a special feeling for parents to watch them grow. You are right; I will never stop marveling, and they will stay little kids in my eyes forever.

  19. Happy happy birthday to your son Gautam! What a beautiful boy he is Rachna. It warms my heart to read that his older brother saved up money to buy him his gift…how precious is that. Also although William is only two, I already look at him wondering where that tiny, tiny baby who didn’t even have the strength to hold his head up when we first met him went…
    Oh, hope your whole family has a joyful year.:)

  20. @Colleen Thanks so much! It warms my heart too when I see these little gestures of thoughtfulness.
