A couple of months ago, two parents approached me for tuition for their sons in Hindi. I was reluctant because I hardly get any free time but took it up. It has been a nice experience this far and more so rewarding because just yesterday a parent thanked me because her son scored very highly. I think respect and praise are the biggest rewards for any teacher. Of course, it is tough teaching a language to a child whose mother tongue it is not. But both the boys I teach are sincere and eager to learn. I get to share views with them and listen to their thoughts.
The biggest advantage is that I get to stay in touch with a language I love, admire and am good at apart from being my mother tongue. Wish there were better publications and writings in Hindi which were easily accessible in Bangalore.
Besides the praise and reward, it is the pleasure of moulding a child’s future with your contribution that thrills you! Well Done.

Thanks Saraswathan for your kind words. Certainly that is a very big motivator!
