Siddharth has always been prone to allergic rhinitis. In simple terms, respiratory allergies, whose symptoms are sneezing bouts, swollen eyes, tears, blocked nose, and a general feeling of malaise. The symptoms aggravate during rainy season and winters. As a result of which, the poor guy really suffers from persistent sneezing and runny nose. I could give him anti histamines, which I only give when his symptoms become really severe, but, as we all know, they do not provide any long term solutions. I could ask him to do Pranayams which are effective at preventing such allergies. But, he is only 7 years old, and the likelihood of him doing the pranayams correctly is really low.
He really is allergic to dust, and dust is something that can’t be avoided. It saddens me to see him suffer through bouts of nose bleeds too due to excessive drying of his nasal membranes. I have consulted doctors, but except for giving medication, there is hardly anything which they can do. Summers have commenced, and I was hoping that his malaise would go away. But, strangely it hasn’t.
Everyone says that he will get better with age. I hope so, too. But, with the increasing air pollution in Bangalore, I have my doubts about this. At least, I can initiate him into Yoga, once he is a little older. I was wondering if someone had some other solutions, which they could share with me apart from medication.
My son too hasd been suffering from wheezing. it would start with rashes on his cheeks, cold and then wheezing. we were sending him for a play group and there were two dogs there. later we discovered that he is allergic to pets:(.
But the ensuing period was hell for us parents.
Morning walk, exercise and yoga will be helpful. 🙂 Hope his health improves. 🙂
let him grow..patience…hey dont be surprised…i am a firsttimer here..just another friend…wishes:)
Honey may help to reduce the intensity
@Bhagyashree Luckily no wheezing for Sid till now. I am giving him steam inhalation for now.
@Chandrika Thanks
@Ramesh Thanks for visiting. Believe me, I am showing a lot of patience. But, it is terrible to see him suffer this way.
@Chinni Thanks for visiting and your suggestion.
I myself was suffering from these problems earlier. As I was always against Allopathic medicine. I was referred by someone to try out ayurvedic medicine, I did take that medicine for months, but now i am completely out such allergies.
Hi ! Are you from NMIMS ?Please try homeopathy . Thats the only long term solution
Well
i will suggest to get his complete blood profile done
He might be suffering from Eosinophilia due to higher levels of eosonophils in in blood, which generally leads to these respiratory allergies.
And after that look for some Homeopathic/ayurvedic medicines..
And take care of yourself too
@Manoj Thank you for the suggestion. I have been getting the solution of natural remedies from many people.
@Chaitali Indeed, I am from NMIMS. Are you the Chaitali from my MBA batch? How are you? How have you been?
@Bhupesh Good to hear from you. Yes, I did get his CBC done which is clear. And, yes I am thinking of homeopathy myself.
