We enjoyed traveling on the newly-opened Worli- Bandra Sea Link ( I had watched a program about it in “Megastructures” on Discovery). We stopped at Kamat’s for a quick snack and reached the Resort around 1.30 ish in the afternoon. Renu having taken the train reached around 11ish with her family. The resort was nice. It was pretty cold there. There was a nice lake and activities built around it. We did boating and enjoyed riding in the kiddie train. There were all sorts of other games too to keep the kids engaged. There was one A/c restaurant and since we all were hungry, we ordered a little too much. After the starters we realized that we had no appetite for the main course we had ordered and asked them if a cancellation was possible. But, they refused and so we had to leave a lot of food untouched. In the evening too, we ordered a lot more and ate like gluttons and ended up asking them to reduce the main course order if possible. It was hilarious and I think those restaurant guys must have been relieved when we left :).
Anyway, the next day of our stay, we quite watched what we ate. We also took a ride around Daman town but really there are no exciting sight-seeing prospects. The beach at Jampore was relatively ok – I’ve seen better ones. The Devka beach was atrocious – very filthy. We would need to use some strong bleaches to cleanse ourselves had we gotten into that murky water – yikes. The kids enjoyed playing with each other for the most part and often got into their complaining moods which was handled elegantly by the two mothers :).
There was an excellent water park with very good rides and the kids had a lot of fun. The resort is big and well-maintained. The cottages were really spacious and after long we got a room to ourselves and all the 3 kids slept in the separate room which had a sofa-cum-bed. The two days just flew by and I clicked a lot of pictures which I will be uploading later. What struck me was the really lazy service and the alarming number of fat men and women I saw. Rarely could one come across even kids who were slim. I do not know which way Indian families are headed if this is the shape being maintained.
We had a nice time overall and after 3 years my entire close family – Dad, brother, sister and her family and our family got together. Precious moments indeed !
As the Mastercard ad says Time spent with family – Priceless !
