The past week went by so very quickly. First the train journey from Bangalore to Mumbai, started on a bad note when due to a system failure at the Railway Station, the charts could not be prepared and the train started a good 2 hours late from Bangalore. Adding to the misery, though our tickets were confirmed we had to wait here and there as we did not know our seat numbers till the charts were released. The journey in itself was uneventful. I carried so many puris from home that we did not need to order any lunch or dinner in the 24-hour journey. We did not meet any interesting companions along the way. Gautam loved the journey especially the gazing out from the large picture window. He loved watching the neatly tilled lands and we all tried to recognize the various crops we saw go by. There was fun in watching the different railway stations as we crossed from Karnataka into Maharashtra. Luckily, the train made up all the lost time during the night and we managed to reach the VT station at sharp 8 pm, the original arrival time; the same VT station where the massacre took place last year.
