It is with extreme pleasure that I have penned the first post of this year for a dear blogger friend, Subhorup Dasgupta of Subho’s Jejune Diet fame. For most of you who savor good writing, the name is synonymous with quality writing. Subho inspires with the simplicity of his thought process and indeed his convictions in simple and meaningful living that translates not only in his deeply insightful writing but in the initiatives that he endorses and lives by like Blend of Tea, SJD and Soch. He has also been instrumental in building a warm community of bloggers based in Hyderabad. Do follow the Facebook page of his blog.

As a person, I had the pleasure of meeting him and his lovely wife in the last year. He is a friend that one can rely on for being there for you. And he handles difficult situations in his trademark calm demeanor. Always encouraging, he and friends like him, is the reason why blogging is a real blessing! So, here is the excerpt of the post I have written for him.

To err is human, to forgive, divine! Haven’t we heard this phrase and quoted it so many times? I know, I have! Yes, I do agree that on many levels, forgiveness is divine. We all have had people and memories that rankle. We have bitter experiences that are often hard to put behind. Just the thought of a particular person or the memory of an incident is enough to make the blood boil. And every single time that memory haunts you; your soul singes some more. Now it may not be apparent but all the tension, stress and negativity that we accumulate within festers and rips us apart, slowly gnawing and eating away at our mental peace and health. So, even though it may seem strange and even unfair at times, it is only with forgiveness that we can move on.
