People are right when they talk about the terrible 2’s. I am hopeful that the terrible 2’s will not extend to terrible 3’s. He is a very loving child who doles out kisses and hugs very easily. He croons in a beautiful voice too and he is an angel when he sleeps :). But when his tantrums begin, one can not recognize that he is the same child. He hits very easily. He would just slap or pinch our hands – not only Siddharth’s but mine and Gurdev’s as well. If we do something he does not like, for eg. switch off the television when he is NOT watching, he goes into a howling fit. He will cry till we switch on the television. On top of it, he keeps saying “sorry bolo” to us. Arre, why should we say sorry? But, any amount of reasoning it out with him just doesn’t work. He keeps repeating till we either start screaming at which he will howl even louder or till we give in. He also has a funny way of commenting. He says “chillao mat, zor se bolo”. I have been trying to tell him that say dheere bolo but he sticks with what he says. He will say ” Papa, aap ghar aa gaye”, to which Gurdev says, “nahin, office mein hi khada hoon”. So, he would ask the question again till we give an answer to his satisfaction which is yes or no :).

He keeps pestering me to give him chocolates and he is so difficult to feed. These days when we have to wake him in the mornings, he does not wish to wake up. Gurdev then gives his standard dialogue. I will only take Siddhu in Dzire but I won’t take you. That works like magic with him :). The key to good behaviour for Siddhu is to tell him that you won’t be allowed to play your Nintendo for some bad behaviour. And suddenly he is at his best :).

Gautam loves watching Tom and Jerry cartoons and he has started using words like my, this way, finished, come. His favourite cartoon character is Spiderman. He says Fiderman and for smell, he says fell aa rahi hai :). He still does not connect with kids his age and mostly likes to play with older kids. He loves eating fruits and all kinds at that, Thank God!

If you ask him, whom do you love the most? He rattles off mummy, papa, siddhu, dadi, nana, aju bhaiya, bua, manas,….. and all the people he can remember including kunja uncle :).

2 Thoughts on “Gautam’s tantrums increase

  1. The best is ‘Sorry bolo’…I really loved it..how dare you can close TV which he is not watching but surely listening 🙂

  2. arre yaar, his tantrums are so bad. Just this morning, he created such a ruckus (you can ask manas and ajay) before going to school. Both of us feel so helpless when he does that and we appreciate siddharth much more for being the gentle boy that he is. I am eagerly awaiting this phase of his to pass, phew !

Do not leave without commenting. I love a good conversation :).
