Last weekend, I watched The Hangover. It had got some great reviews and I really look forward to watching comedies so I was very interested in checking this one out. The story is about a groom and his two friends and a quirky brother-in-law who decide to take off to Vegas for a bachelor’s party. They check into a luxurious suite, drink on the terrace of their hotel and then wake up with a big hangover to find a tiger in their toilet, a baby in their room and the groom missing. They have absolutely no memory of what happened the night before. But the three of them have to now trace back the events to find their buddy who has to get married the next day. The movie is filled with excellent comedies and outrageous situations. It is a whirlwind of events which keep you wondering what really happened and how would they find the groom in time.

The episode with the cops who use them to teach a bunch of kids how to tase, the tiger stealing from Mike Tyson’s house, the mean girlfriend of one of the friends etc. are quite funny. The one where they have a chase in the cop car with a tiny baby strapped into a seat is the only tacky one. They should not use such small babies even to evoke humor.

The quirky Alan as the brother-in-law is superb and so are Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Stu as the other friends. The women have cute cameos, the one of Heather Graham is nice. It is basically a boys movie. A good, fun-loving movie which is a complete laugh riot. Really a good watch!

2 Thoughts on “The Hangover – My review

  1. Recently someone recommended this movie to us.The humour is quirky but as usual the problem is the kids. So tell me, can we watch this one with the kids?

  2. No way, Aparna not with the kids :). I normally tell my older son that this has violence and language not meant for kids. And, mostly you can watch one late night during the weekend when the kids are asleep.

Do not leave without commenting. I love a good conversation :).
