Nice feeling, indeed 🙂 Sid’s school reopened today. No more planning how to keep him busy. No more of the constant noise in the house. No more of the constant tantrums. Gautam’s school had reopened last week, and his usual timings are till noon. That still gives me so many hours of peace in the house. Can you imagine working in that commotion (I work from home)?
Most of all, I am happy that life is back to a certain predictable routine. And, I have my freedom back 🙂 till the next summer vacations!

15 Thoughts on “Back to school!

  1. I think u have to do lots in the school days.
To concentrate in their studies and much more. Is it?
In these days, parents are more tensed than children.

  2. Happy Schooling! Take care…

    greetings,

  3. @Jidhu Actually, on the contrary :). I have to do much less on the school days. I have much more work keeping them occupied during vacations. I look forward to the peace the school days offer :)/

@reanaclaire Thanks for visiting my blog!

  4. First day in school: it is unforgettable.

  5. All the best to you and your kids, first day at school it should be exciting to them 🙂

  6. So you don’t get hyper tensed about your kid’s exams, homework?!

Down here I see Moms who are more frightened by their kid’s grade rather than their project’s deadlines 🙂

  7. Aaaah peace and quiet! I can’t imagine (yet) the amount of relief, but as an avid reader of your blog, it must be considerable. As an aside, your hubby recommended me a movie from 1977. It makes me wonder if it’s a classic — or if that was the last time you guys saw a movie 😉

  8. @Anulal Hardly for the kids :). They love holidays.

@Suffix There is the same enthusiasm, which we used to share, new teachers, new class, but old friends. Sadly, for Gautam, his classmates were shuffled.

@Jon No, I am a different kind of mom:) Siddharth studies very well himself, and Gautam hardly has anything to study. I really do not worry much about their grades or projects just now. So, I am pretty happy that school is on. God bless teachers! I have taught for a year, so I know exactly how patient they have to be 🙂

@Bart Yes, the relief is so wonderful. I know, he recommended Sholay to you. It is a classic in Indian cinema, and everyone who watches Hindi movies has seen it umpteen times. Did you like it?

If not, I could recommend lots of new Bollywood movies for you. Ouch, do I see your pained expression at the offer 🙂

  9. u do realize u r soon going to miss the old times?

  10. can’t even imagine:D
must say its not easy working from home. requires discipline and loads of patience:)

  11. @Ryn Maybe, but I prefer it this way 😉

@wise donkey You are right, it requires a lot of patience and effort to be working from home. My effort is to compromise the least on my responsibilities as a wife, mother and a homemaker.

  12. I can relate very well. After the weekend i eagerly wait for Sunday morning( our week beginning) when both father and son are away:)

  13. @Bhagya aha! you are my friend 🙂 We are in the same boat, I guess.

  14. Hi! Rachna,

back to school days, so ur home is going to look straight from now, waiting for next summer to c it upside down 🙂
