It was Gautam’s first day at school and only a couple of hours at that. I was a little nervous because he has not even been to play school before this and the sight of a crying child is distressing for any parent. Anyway, I went to drop him to his class. He also had big brother Manas bhaiya putting his arm around his shoulder. He seemed quite happy to get into the classroom because he wanted to play with the ball. The tears surfaced when I told him that I will be back in a couple of hours to pick him up. The teacher asked me to leave. He howled and I let go of his hand and ran out of the classroom. I could hear his loud howling two floors up. But, I am sure he would stop soon. When I went to pick him up at 10.30, the teachers who were all smiles in the morning were looking strained :). She called out for Gautam and I could see other kids crying loudly. Then Gautam comes into my arms as I lift him up. He mumbles something, I could not catch. He is not crying but is holding back tears. He seems to be more frightened of the cries of the other kids :). In no time, he is walking in his funny, bouncing style and telling me tales of how he got a chocolate and a balloon and that he scolded his teacher when she scolded him :).
Overall, my little son handled himself very well. As always, I am proud of him as he goes out of my arms and takes his first steps independently.

Do not leave without commenting. I love a good conversation :).
