It gives me great pleasure to have done this Guest post for dear friend, Janaki Nagaraj’s blog, Memoirs of a Homemaker today. Janaki is a person I have known virtually for quite some time till I met her in Bangalore a couple of years back. What stood out for me about her apart from her exceptional beauty is the quiet strength she emanates. Always polite and helpful to a fault, she is a fun and warm person. She goes out of her way to be nice to people and to be accommodating. She is as genuine, sensitive and wonderful when you meet her in real life. How she does it is beyond me, but I am happy to belong to her list ofย  friends (especially with her Bollywood contacts ;-)). Truly has been wonderful knowing her and seeing her writing evolve and mature. She recently got published in an anthology of poems. Do read her blog for lovely poetry and some wonderful posts. Here is the post I did for her:

When you can’t let go!

Meena climbed the stairs and reached her first floor apartment. Her friend, Vivaan, accompanied her. He felt her tense as she fished for the apartment keys in her purse. She asked him to wait while she gingerly opened the door.

Meena was scared. Was he going to be upset yet again? How will his mood be? Of late, his temper tantrums were getting increasingly difficult to bear so much so that it was not safe to have him around strangers.

Meena still remembered fondly when Tony came in her life. It was certainly the happiest day of her life though her parents were not so much in favor of it. Read more here.

14 Thoughts on “When you can’t let go!

  1. Am feeling like a bollywood celebrity myself. Every one who share this platform has to give something to the other and your practicality rocks. Thanks for gracing my blog…the pleasure is all mine ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hopping over ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Extremely thought provoking Rachna. Sometimes we just cannot let go, we let emotion take over.. it works for the good at times, at others it does not… but at the end of the day I think it is to do with the priorities we set and the choices we make based on those… the consequences always have to be dealt with.

  4. Beautiful post and yes, I too love Janu aka Janaki Nagraj..she is one of the most lovely lady I came across my circle in Mumbai.

    Will read more ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Very thought provoking….:)

  6. You can say nothing. No matter what you say, they wont get it as long as they remain determined not to get it.

You can just pray Rachna…. and ask God to give them wisdom. And then draw a deep breath.

But it isn’t easy… specially if you love the person.

  7. Very true, every word you say. But a person who hits you strips you of your dignity as a human being. I wonder if it worth living with them even if they redeem their behavior.

  8. THought provoker!! Well written!

Do not leave without commenting. I love a good conversation :).
